About Signature Foods

Signature Foods Banner

Signature Foods is an organization dedicated to creating ‘feel-good food moments’. What initially started as individual authentic food products grew out to Signature Foods, an organization known for its beloved brands like Johma, Westland, Heks’nkaas, Vlammetjes, KaasTengels, and Los Taqueros for consumers, as well as Hamal, Johma Professional, Le Cobourg, VH, and Gourmet for professionals.

Headquartered in Hilversum, the Netherlands, Signature Foods has multiple production facilities across the country, as well as a location in Belgium, and an office in Germany. Employees are distributed among these facilities, with teams working at the location where the products for their respective brand are produced.

Signature Foods is committed to producing the most delicious products, while keeping an eye for the future. This means that making their products more delicious goes hand in hand with increasingly using sustainable ingredients.

Last year, they introduced ‘Young Signature Foods,’ a program designed to engage employees who are young at heart and eager to learn about topics such as digitization and new technologies. This program focuses on three central pillars: growth, enjoyment, and giving. By providing these kinds of programs, Signature Foods demonstrates its dedication to enhancing operations and inspiring its employees.

Understanding and Applying AI at Signature Foods

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a crucial focus for many organizations seeking to explore the possibilities of AI to enhance their operations. However, understanding and implementing AI technologies still remains a significant challenge. Signature Foods, with
its commitment to continuous improvement and employee development, faced this very issue.

With the launch of ‘Young Signature Foods,’ aimed at engaging enthusiastic employees through growth, enjoyment, and giving, the need to demystify AI and explore its potential became apparent. The central pillar ‘growth’, which emphasizes the importance of personal and professional development, highlighted the necessity of understanding AI to make daily tasks more efficient and boost productivity.
Within the company, we were more frequently asked if people understood how AI works. In response, the CEO suggested doing something with AI, such as organizing a workshop or training for the colleagues.
