What is the difference between T1 & T2 documents?
T1 and T2 documents are customs documents used in the cross-border movement of goods during the transport from one customs office to another.
The T1 document is needed for goods coming from outside the EU or goods that are not yet released into free circulation. These goods cannot be traded because import duties and VAT have to be paid first.Upon arrival at the end destination, the T1 document is settled, taxes are charged and the goods are cleared for circulation.
The T2 document, on the other hand, is used for community goods from the EU or cleared in the EU. With a T2 document, you can ship these goods not only within the EU but also transport them through a third country.

What languages does Klippa support?
All European languages are supported. Our engine performs best on transit documents in English, Dutch, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Italian, Portuguese, English Spanish, German, Hebrew and French.
Other languages can be supported on request, we’d just need to train our machine learning models.
Is Klippa T1 / T2 document capturing GDPR-compliant?
All the services that Klippa offers are fully GDPR-compliant. By default, we use ISO-certified servers within the European Union for processing. If you are not located within the EU, we can also set up servers in a region of choice.
Next to that, a data processor agreement is in place. We do not store any of your or your customers’ data after processing.
Can Klippa convert T1 / T2 documents to CSV, XLSX, XML or JSON?
Yes we can. Klippa takes pictures of T1 / T2 documents, or their PDF equivalents, and converts them to readable text using OCR. From there we use machine learning to turn the text into structured data. Most of the time we use JSON for this, but depending on your preferences we can also convert T1 / T2 documents to CSV, XLSX or XML.
